Katrina German nominated for International Women in Tech Awards

SASKATOON, October 23, 2018 - Katrina German has been smiling for a week after learning that she has been nominated for a “Women in Communications” award from Women in Tech®. With members in 53 countries, Women in Tech® is an international non-profit organization with a double mission: to close the gender gap and to help women embrace technology.

The Women in Communications Award “celebrates inspiring women who innovate the way we communicate and do marketing through disruptive campaigns using new technology.”

With eleven years of digital strategy under her belt, German has spearheaded hashtags such as #RaiseaReader and #WomeninTech to trend on Twitter reaching 2.4 million and 2.8 million people in one day. Her former technology startup shared video stories of change from thirty-six different countries, while her new book “Action Tracking: Mastering your Digital Strategy in Under 30 Days” is due to be released in December of 2018.

“I’m beyond excited to travel to Lisbon and meet with the other nominees from Italy, USA and Portugal,” shares German. “I’ve been ‘playing’ on the internet for years and it’s a nice surprise to be recognized for something that I enjoy so much.”

The award will be presented at a prestigious and exclusive gala dinner of 200 professionals and media from around the world, and be held alongside the Web Summit. Web Summit is one of the world’s largest tech conferences, with over 60,000 attendees.

German will join a group of Canadian technology entrepreneurs and organizations who are also attending Web Summit.   “I would like to thank TinyEye Therapies for sponsoring my Web Summit ticket. Special thanks to Marie Savostianik from Tech West Canada for connecting me with the Canadian delegation heading to the event.”
