Katrina German Wins International Women in Tech Award
SASKATOON, November 14, 2018 - Katrina German has won the “Women in Communications” award from Women in Tech®. With members in 53 countries, Women in Tech® is an international non-profit organization with a double mission: to close the gender gap and to help women embrace technology.
The Women in Communications Award “celebrates inspiring women who innovate the way we communicate and do marketing through disruptive campaigns using new technology.”
With eleven years of digital strategy under her belt, German has spearheaded hashtags such as #RaiseaReader and #WomeninTech to trend on Twitter reaching 2.4 million and 2.8 million people in one day. Her former technology startup shared video stories of change from thirty-six different countries, while her new book “Action Tracking: Mastering your Digital Strategy in Under 30 Days” is due to be released in December of 2018.
“I admit that I did not expect to win,” shares German. “The other nominees from Italy, USA and Portugal were amazing. I am beyond honoured.”
The award was presented at a prestigious and exclusive gala dinner of 200 professionals and media from around the world in Lisbon, Portugal and was held alongside the Web Summit. Web Summit is one of the world’s largest tech conferences, with over 70,000 attendees.
